HER Voice

HER Voice is based on the principle that adolescent girls and young women have a vital role to play in driving and shaping the HIV response. Their experiences and needs must be central for policy making, program design and implementation.

HER VOICE FUND

Recently we assisted the Country Coordinating Mechanism (CCM) for the The Global Fund to Fight AIDS, Tuberculosis and Malaria in mobilizing CSOs working in the prevention and treatment of Malaria, HIV/AIDS and Tuberculosis and participated at the CCM workshop that held in Bafoussam on the 8th of May, 2019.

This stakeholders workshop for the first time had representatives of not leaders but also some members of the Her Voice Club which is made up of Adolescent Girls and Young Women (AGYW) aged 15-24 who by statistics make up 12% of the global population but they make up 59% of new HIV infections among their age group.

During the session CCM, Leaders of CSOs, health care workers working directly on the field could fill anger in the voice of 20 years old Omoh Virginie a member of the Her Voice Club as she advocated for the inclusion of the target beneficiaries in the Global Fund processes and shared practically on the challenges they as young girls face especially as concerns HIV/AIDS awareness and stigmatization.
