Lukhanyiso Msimba, 21
I am a very tenacious and zealous individual. I currently hold a Bachelor’s degree in Economics, a honours in Management and I am enrolled for a Masters’ in Business Administration.
I firmly believe in education, not only academics, as one of the many solutions to eradicating the ignorance and the misinformation that surrounds many of the issues that we, as Africans, face. I currently mentor girls from rural high schools who have a difficult time navigating what to apply for and how they should apply to Universities.
I chose to be Celibate until I was 21 years old. In these years I fought against peer pressure, I lessened my chances of being infected by HIV and in those years, I learned the importance of values and being true to one’s self. I learned to believe in myself and the vision I had for my future. I have been previously invited to speak at events aimed at empowering young women such as the Sibulele Sibaca Foundation annual Generation teen camp.
